Heart Nourish
A nourishing daily tonic full of bio-available and potent antioxidants and vitamin C. Containing herbs traditionally used to strengthen the heart muscle and vasculature, and to open the heart to love.
200ml
Hibiscus: Hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa), commonly known as Roselle, has a long history of traditional use for cardiovascular and heart health across various cultures. In North African and Egyptian medicine, Hibiscus tea is traditionally used to support heart health, lower blood pressure and also to cool the body in warmer climates. Traditional Chinese Medicine considers Hibiscus cooling and sour, and it is used to clear heat, nourish yin, and promote the movement of stagnant blood, making it useful for hypertension, poor circulation, and fluid retention.
Hibiscus remains a highly regarded cardiovascular tonic in both traditional and modern herbalism, with contemporary studies confirming its traditional use for managing blood pressure and supporting heart health.
Rose hip: Rosehip (Rosa canina, Rosa rugosa, etc.) has a strong tradition of use in Western herbal medicine, particularly as a cardiovascular and circulatory tonic. While often thought of for immune support, its high vitamin C content and bioactive flavonoids make it an important heart-protective herb in traditional Western herbalism.
Hawthorn berry: A wonderful heart-supportive herb that helps with emotional stress, grief, and anxiety related to fear or uncertainty, Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) has traditionally been a highly valued remedy for the cardiovascular system.
Hawthorn is said to strengthen the force of contractions of the heart, and dilates associated blood vessels. The berries contain a vitamin C content of roughly 50 mg per 100g of berries, and are considered an ‘amphoteric’ - meaning that they can both stimulate and relax the heart muscle depending on its need.
Ingredients: Rose hips, Hibiscus, Hawthorn berries, raw sugar and filtered water.
Directions for use:
Children: 1-2 Teaspoons a day.
Adults 1-2 Tablespoons a day.
Syrup can be taken directly from spoon (enjoy the lovely tang!), or can be added to glass of water, soda water, or even mocktails/cocktails.
Safety considerations:
Considered gentle yet effective, Hawthorn berries may cause dizziness, nausea, vertigo or headache in sensitive individuals. **Not to be used by those taking Nitrates (vasodilating drugs) or Phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor drugs (ie: Sildenafil).
